I Wayan Arca Bertayasa is a Balinese coffee producer, the creative mind behind Ulian. He initially pursued a career in hospitality, making his mark as a mixologist under Scottish chef Will Meyrick, enhancing the cocktail menus at Sarong, Mama San, and Hujan Locale, with stints in Hong Kong and Malaysia. In 2010, Arca returned to his roots, taking over his father’s coffee legacy and producing high-quality fully-washed beans. Leveraging his hospitality experience, he brought recognition to his brand, Ulian. As one of the few English speakers in his village, he built a network within the coffee community, promoting sustainable coffee production.
