Tim Stapleforth

Tim Stapleforth, originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, embarked on his culinary journey in Australia, where he honed his skills under the mentorship of esteemed chef Andrew McConnell. Working at iconic venues such as Supernormal and Supernormal Canteen, Tim immersed himself in Melbourne’s vibrant culinary scene, embracing innovation and contemporary approaches to cuisine. His passion for exploration led him to Hong Kong in 2019, where he further expanded his horizons. Returning to Melbourne, Tim rejoined McConnell’s team at Gimlet at Cavendish House, contributing to its recognition with two hats and placement on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants long list in 2022. Tim’s culinary style is a fusion of his New Zealand roots and the diverse influences he absorbed in Australia and Hong Kong. At Ghost, his new Berawa restaurant in bali, he celebrates local produce and cooking over wood fire with a European bistro focus.
